If you need a temporary job, October through December is peak hiring season, but watch for holiday job scams.
The scam is fourth on the Better Business Bureau’s “12 Scams of Christmas” countdown.

The National Retail Federation predicts that retailers will hire around 500,000 seasonal workers this holiday season. Amazon alone pledged to employ 120,000 temporary workers. It is possible to get one of those jobs but beware of the fake ones.
The BBB recommends applying for jobs in-person or directly through the retailer's website. Don't follow any links.
Be wary of employers who ask for personal information over the phone or online before meeting in-person.
Another red flag is if you're asked to pay for equipment or software upfront.
Too-good-to be true salaries, secret shopper jobs, and on-the-spot offers without an interview are some other giveaways.
