Time is running out to put the finishing touches on your prom ensemble! We talked to the prom experts about the trends for the spring prom season in makeup, accessories, and flowers.
Makeup artist Carol Stover showed us the hottest styles for Spring- flashback styles and bold colors. She showed us how to get the retro look with a bold red lip and thick black eyeliner with a cat-tail (well-blended, of course). The 80s are back, too, with bright blue eye shadow and neutral lips and face to let those colors pop.
It's all about pops of color in jewelry, too. Toni McCraken from Tiger Lily Boutique displayed some fun bubble necklaces and clutch wallets that brought some fashionable hues to a formal look. There was a little bling, too, with sparkles and metals providing full-force shine. We even saw some unexpected pairings. Who knew a statement necklace would look so good with a short, one-shoulder dress?
But, before you load up on rings, necklaces, and bangles, remember to leave room for a corsage! Lisa Baker showed us flowers from every part of the spectrum: from purple, to hot pink and orange, to classic white, for those who prefer a more traditional, natural look. And don't worry about emptying your wallet for floral accents. A corsage and boutonniere will typically cost fifty dollars or less.
