Born and raised in Baltimore Lamont is one of nine children to a father that worked in the steel mills and a mother that had the hardest job in the world, staying home with nine kids.

Lamont has covered news and sports in Baltimore for 3 decades all with WMAR-TV and has had the privilege to have traveled extensively throughout the world doing what he’s learned to love, cover the news.

Lamont says ‘TV has so many different areas and I’ve had the opportunity to work in many of them from sports to news to commercials, documentaries, investigative and magazine. I have a degree in Engineering but got into videography through the great people that I’ve had the chance to work with, that pushed me and encouraged me to pursue it and do well at it.’

Lamont was promoted to Chief Photographer in 2003 and has won numerous awards for his work. Throughout the years he’s worked with some of the most talented videographers, reporters, directors and producers in the business. He says that has taught him many life lessons, but he’s learned the most from the people whose story he’s allowed to tell.

Lamont enjoys spending time with his wife and children, travelling and playing different types of sports.

He is a member of Victorious Ministries in Baltimore and gives a lot of time there helping nurture and help others to grow and learn about the beauty of life and respect for others. He also travels to many schools and colleges around the area talking about the type of work we do here at WMAR-TV

If you have any stories ideas drop Lamont a line, he’s looking forward to hearing from our viewers.
