Charley Crowson anchors WMAR’s Good Morning Maryland with Meteorologist Lynette Charles and Traffic reporter Lauren Cook. He joined ABC2 News in November 2010.
At KTHV in Little Rock, Arkansas, Charley co-anchored Today’s THV This Morning and worked as a multimedia journalist, earning two Emmy Awards, two Edward R. Murrow Awards and three Associated Press Awards.
Charley’s award-winning coverage of controversial evangelist Tony Alamo served as a precursor to the preacher’s September 2008 arrest and eventual federal conviction for decades of criminal activity with underage girls.
Prior to joining KTHV in 2007, Charley worked as the media relations manager with the University of Arkansas. Before that, he worked for four years as an anchor, reporter and morning show co-host with KHBS/KHOG in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and with KSNF in Joplin, Missouri.
When away from work, Charley spends time with his daughter, Alivia, whom he considers the “CEO” of his life. He's a huge sports fan and, as luck would have it, has been a Ravens fan since 2000. He enjoys reading (politics, current events and anything by Nick Hornby), drawing (usually for his daughter), playing guitar (though he’s not very good) and playing golf.
