Brendan joined WMAR in October 2015. He missed city life and has always loved Baltimore. It was a perfect fit.
Where else have you worked and what was your oddest job?
Before coming to Baltimore, I reported for WGAL News in my hometown of Lancaster, PA.
My oddest job also involves another Lancaster County institution: Dutch Wonderland. There, I operated amusement park rides & regularly put on the 'Duke the Dragon' costume to wave at kids.
Honorable mention: I also spent one summer in a factory making Twizzlers.
What are you most proud of when it comes to your work?
It's really satisfying to help people think about an issue, event or everyday process in a different, more interesting way.
Interesting fact(s) about your personal life?
I still buy CDs (& even vinyl records,) play a Fender Stratocaster, am a fan of Philadelphia sports teams, skiing, biking and Batman.
Favorite local hangouts?
Fells Point (specifically The Sound Garden record shop,) Merriweather Post Pavilion and Federal Hill.
All-time favorite movie and song? Why?
Movie(s): "The Dark Knight Trilogy" because Batman is awesome.
Song: "Say it Ain't So" by Weezer. I credit it with introducing me to most of the music I listen to now. Also, it was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar.
Who do you admire most? Why?
My parents for their wisdom & humor.
