National award winning reporter and anchor Brian Wood is Anchor and Managing Editor of ABC 2 News at 5, 6 and 11:00.

Wood has more than 25 years of news and newsroom management experience.  He’s stood his ground during earthquakes in Seattle, San Francisco and Kobe, Japan.   He was in London for the funeral of Princess Diana.  He covered the bombing in Oklahoma City, the crash of John F. Kennedy Junior’s plane near Martha’s Vineyard and the smuggling of illegal immigrants from Hong Kong.

Brian Wood earned the coveted National Peabody Award for his examination of the Columbia River. He has also been honored with multiple Emmy Awards for his anchoring and reporting, as well as honors from the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press, and others.

Wood is a graduate of the University of Washington with an honors degree in Political Science and Communications.

Wood is involved in the community offering support to the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, the House of Ruth and Maryland Food Bank.

He lives with his wife and family.
